Alternative Hip Hop

R-sin is Pain ,anger ,depression ,anxiety all in one. I been writing and recording since 1985. I started making beats and doing my own production work in 1998. I always had my brother doing the production for me but I wanted to contribute more than just the rhymes.
Band/artist history
Well from the time I started back in 1984 early 85 I've went by many names since then. Names that I have out grown with the change of times. I settled on the name R-sin back in 2003-04. I was going thru a rough time coming mostly from the horrorcore genre which I had been doing since 94-95 with influences such as Esham/Natas, grave diggers, Flatlinerz, Gangsta Nip and Brotha Lynch Hung. Artists that I had worked with and known a long time weren't as serious about the music as I was. They didn't want it bad enough and they stopped being reliable sources and co-workers when it came to creating new material. So I decided to make a fresh start, sever ties and go with a new name which didn't take long for me to figure out at the time. It came quite naturally actually. I don't hold myself to any 1 genre now. You never know what I might put out next. Could be horrorcore. Could be hardcore, Could be something more touchy or dramatic, maybe even political. You never know.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
No not at the current time. I was formerly in a group though called TBL aka The Burning Legion of Kingsport, Tn. We use to play different venues in East,Tn. We only played shows with metal bands. Not that we didnt get booked with other rap acts. But other rappers never showed up when they were booked with us. Intimidated I guess. We use to show up at the venue looking more metalish than the actual bands. Always had bands asking if we needed help carrying equipment in. The look on their faces when they heard we were the rappers was priceless. Half the time we had the mosh pits going harder also.
Your musical influences
Any artists who put everything into doing their music. Artists that take the time and do their research and work towards bettering their craft as musicians. Over-all coming from the era in which I first started. Rap has changed to much to name all the influences that I've had. I guess you can say anything 80's oldschool , Anything 90's horrorcore, gangsta or roughneck sounding. 2000 and beyond changes again because now I'm actually a rapper who dont like what rap has become over the years. The message and artform isnt there no more. Rap is the most popular form of music at the moment, but hip hop is dead as a majority.
What equipment do you use?
I'll keep that a secret for now. I use to collect outboard gear years ago. Ive own $30k worth of gear at one time but have since moved on to other resources. Lets just say that you damn sure dont need pro-tools to make things happen lol.
