Name: RICO DOB: 9-11-85 Hometown: MOBILE AL., PLATEAU AL. Website: www.myspace.com/lilricodaking or www.facebook.com or www.youtube.com/lilricodaking CONTACT: (251) 382-2835 Email: hrld_knght@yahoo.com Harold (Rico) Knight, born in Mobile, Al. is a graduate of C.F. Vigor High School class of 2003. Rico attended Faulkner State Community College and received his associate’s degree in 2005. In addition, he will be a graduate of the University of Alabama in (Tuscaloosa) August of 2010, majoring in Graphic Design. "Hip Hop has been a part of my life since I can remember". Rico began rapping in 2001. However, he started taking Hip Hop seriously and began his career in 2006. His stage name is actually his nickname "RICO". "I have no idea where my nickname came from, it’s nothing like my government name, but it fits me. The 24-year-old artist has had some very positive feedback since he has been on the mic! "Two years ago I received a phone call from A&R select, suggesting that I join their artist rep". "But, I had to think that through and just do my own thing for the time being". His style, confidence, delivery, and hooks speak for themselves. Rico’s music is universal, consisting of Rap/Hip Hop/ Pop and R&B. The young artist began his career doing Christian hip-hop. However, Rico transitioned into a more secular perspective, without a use of degrading or violence. “I made a decision to go from “Christian hip-hop” to what they call “secular music” because I no longer wanted to be a hypocrite to others, as well as myself. I would tell others what to do or how to live in my music, but would fail to follow my own advice. So, I just chose to be me and keep it clean and fun without losing my love for my maker.” Rico writes (and currently) records his own music on his college campus. He is on the independent label "Own Heir Music LLC." with recording artist and CEO of the label "MARK UNIVERSE" ("Box of Chicken" aka "Mo Flava"). Rico has gained popularity in his hometown of Mobile Alabama for his radio personality introduction song "NICK@NITE" as well as a single (BAD GIRL) from his latest album "Tha Wake Up". "My dreams are to make an impact on hip hop like Michael Jackson did to every genre of music. Rapping makes me ecstatic. It is muse. Just being in the studio with the headphones on and the beat turned up is fulfilling to my spirit. When it comes to composing a song, I am in heaven, especially when it’s a banger!" Rico is now working on his second album, which is currently untitled.
