This jazz-rock tune incorporates instrumental-rock elements, chromatic melodic lines and an atypical harmonic platform. It was envision as a “modern-day march” or "Anthem".
My guitar focused instrumentals are a fusion of post Be-Bop Jazz, Hip-Hop grooves and Alternative Rock elements featuring: Kickin-Guitar-Jamz, Graphic-Harmonic-Content and eXplicit-Melodic-Exposure.
Band/artist history
"... After a stint as a student in the music department at Pensacola Junior College annoying the chairman of the music department with inappropriately- syncopated rhythms for 4 voice chorals, the Good Doctor Whitmore implied I needed to find a different college. His suggestions included Berklee College of Music. So, off I went to the frozen environs of New England and my new alma mater.
Most of the stuff you read about Berklee was still true then: a keen, highly competitive environment, world famous alumni and teachers all professionals some giants in their field - eager evangelists spreading the gospel of Jazz while still providing the traditional musical glue that provides the foundation of western music. By the time I had graduated with my degree in composition I had written some traditional music pieces including a Symphonic tone poem for full Orchestra, Piano Sonata, Fugue, Motet and six works in smaller forms. Augment the writing schedule with the daily hours of instrumental practice, ensemble obligations, class, gigs and homework and you have a full musical schedule not for the faint of heart; but, I digress .
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Of course [grin]! One of the most cathartic things a performing musician can do is to play in front of an appreciative crowd of fans.
Your musical influences
My latest compositions are a post "grunge" heavy metal bebop (to steal the phrase from the Brecker Brothers [grin] guitar instrumentals.
My musical influences are great and varied including: Bird, Trane, Chick Corea, Weather Report, Bud Powell, Wes, George Benson, Jim Hall, Jeff Beck, Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Steve Via, The Meters, Mozart, Ravel, Debussy, Stravinsky, Steely Dan, Little Feat and even the Beatles.
What equipment do you use?
Most of this info is available on my website .
Anything else?
Well Yea! [grin]
Feel free to stop by the and pose any questions you might have.
Please try and limit your inquiries to something I may know about like: the music, , compositional aspects and software. I find it difficult to answer the other stuff like What is the average rainfall in the Amazon basin?, why arent North Americans familiar with ? and ? [very big grin]...

Nice playing man, I especially dug "the eighth is of the seven". Interesting grooves.
From a post on newsgroup: rec.music.makers.guitar.jazz
"Your tune [Mi Media Naranja] sounds like "Metheny meets the Mahavishnu". You certainly have
absorbed that sound and are able to make a stylistically convincing
statement."

Guitarist Rick Richbourg is in the studio putting the finishing touches on his upcoming CD, Life is for the Living. With apparent trademark humor Richbourg claims, "Release is sometime this quarter ... touring info to follow."
He's also putting his degree in Music Composition ... from Berklee College of Music ... to good use. "I am currently writing a 'gumbo' of musical styles that include a combination of 'heavy-metal be-bop' and post 20th century rock," says the native Floridian who grew up in the Orlando area.
