Country General

RICK HART was born on August 21, 1958, in Kansas City Mo. Rick was raised in Kansas City, Kansas, in the small community of Turner along with 1 brother and 2 sisters. Rick always loved music from a young age. Rick and his brother would sit on the floor and listen to their father strum out tunes on his guitar, such as "Johnny B. Good" and "Secret Agent Man". Rick has been involved in music most of his life, playing saxaphone for 9 years and guitar for 10 years. Rick also sang in the church choir from the age of 12, until he entered the U.S.Navy at 17 years of age. While in the navy, Rick quickly joined a band and performed special concerts on the hanger deck of the aircraft carriers he was assigned to entertain his fellow servicemen on long voyages. This became a regular event to boost the moral of his shipmates and give them a well deserved break from the rigors shipboard life. After the navy, Rick's musical career was put on hold as he began his married life. He continued his college education in computers while working fulltime and raising a family. Rick's love for computers led him to a voice chat room on the internet called "Mplayer", where he was able to once again live out his dream of singing to an audience. Although the audience was one of the cyberworld on the internet, it was no less exciting for Rick than performing in front of a live crowd. One of the more interesting aspects of Rick's life, is the fact that he disliked country music for most of it. Then Rick heard the voice of Leann Rimes. "I couldn't believe what I was hearing, I mean, this girl was only 14, I think, and her voice was as clear as a bell and she hit every note square on" Rick was quoted as saying. Rick started listening to country radio stations just to hear Leann sing, which lead him to hear other performers like Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Chris Cagle and Brad Paisley. It wasn't long before Rick's car radio was permanently parked on the local country station. Rick's music still leans toward his rock and roll roots, which lends itself to an upbeat, toe tapping, get up off your seat and dance style of country music. Rick attended the Thunder Bay Music Festival, in Ontario,Canada, where he was introduced to record producer, Randy Moore. Randy produced and wrote the title track for Rick's debut cd, titlted "LonelyHarts", which was released in April 2002. Rick recently attended the Superior International Music Festival in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, on August 29, 2003, where he headlined with artists Shelley Jacobson and Keith Thompson. He performed the title track from his debut CD "LonelyHarts" for an audience at the Outpost at Lakehead University. Last year at the same festival, Rick was the opening act for Colin Amey. Rick's future plans, include recording more cd's and touring Eastern Canada and Central USA. Rick continues to sing online in the voice chat programs Paltalk and LiVve. Rick likes the fact that people from all over the world get a chance to hear him perform and he has quite a few international fans. The support he receives online is awesome, and Rick feels that he owes his fans there, and his lovely wife Melissa, credit for his success. "They continue to support me thru everything, and one thing that age has taught me well is, NEVER forget the people that put you where you are, cause it's those same people who will knock you back down to reality!"
