"Reelest of the Reel Baltimore is on our heels!!"
Band/artist history
Damon, better to some as "Reelest" was born March 1983 in Baltimore Maryland."Everyone used to tell my parents that I was going to be a talented person". He began drawing at the age of three, playing drums at age eleven, and by the time he hit high school was accepted into Baltimore School for the Arts. There he was able to perfect his art skill . He stayed for three years but eventually left because of the immense pressure put on the students to perform. "School didn't let out until 4:10p.m., and sometimes we would have to stay after for open house events. I wouldn't get home until 9 some nights and we had on average 35 hours of art and academic homework a week". After leaving the school, he went back to music playing drums in church. When he graduated high school he studied business, built a studio and started his own label. He is currently in college pursuing a degree in music. In January 2010 he released his first offical mixtape "I Did it Myself" under 4 Pound Records. " Hopefully I will have an album out soon, I have to manage school and running a business, and that's not an easy job but I've been working hard since highschool".
Your musical influences
2pac, Kool G Rap, NaS, AZ, Jay-Z, Mobb Deep, Noyd, Big Daddy Kane, Smiff n Wessun, Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, Etta James, Louis Armstrong... the list goes on.
What equipment do you use?
Reason 4, Nuendo 4, Yamaha MS 80 moniters, Sure KSM-44, PreSonus Eureka, Mogami cable, AMD9600 quad processor, Waves Diamond Pack... etc.
Anything else?
Keep GOD first and ALL will go well! If you're getting into music, do more than just rap or produce. Hip Hop producers know nothing about music, they just cut and paste on a cpu. If we don't learn music, the industry will continue to suffer at the hands of people with no talent or musical ability.
