R.E.K. (Red Eyed Knights) is an up and coming hip-hop and rap duo based out of Mississauga, Ont. These two talented artists, Jonathan Lindo (Junia-T) and Jamie Hagan (Resin) are bringin their own brand of genuine rap to the music world.
REK was formed in September of 2001, when Junia-T and Resin belonged to other rap groups. Both felt they needed to break away and expand their musical talents. The two knew each other from going to the same high school and built a friendship based on their love for the hip-hop culture. When they began to freestyle together, they recognized an instant chemistry in their rhymes, and it was then the two decided to form REK.
Both Resin and Junia-T feel their driving, musical chemistry is based on being two very individual people sharing the same mentality and passion for hip-hop. Each song is different from the last, having its own voice and identity. They are both believers of not selling through image, but through music. They hope that their diverse, natural original music speaks for itself.
