Band/artist history
I started songwriting seriously at mid-life as a way of coping with problems and changes I was going through. It quickly became evident that through my songs I could help others see that they were not alone in their life struggles, and could laugh at life's ironies.
My songs are essentially social commentaries and observations of life.
Your musical influences
Solid melodies, intelligent lyrics, brilliant insights, emotional truth and ironic humor:
Tom Lehrer, Christine Lavin, Nancy LaMott, Bonnie Raitt, Barbra Streisand, Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner & Loewe, Gilbert & Sullivan.
Anything else?
With a background advertising and copywriting, I'm very adept at writing lyrics. I've had several commissions for custom songs for corporate events and special occasions. My clients know I can work in all the important information and details.
