rabs was born in a log cabin in small fishing village named sentri near the aegean sea. from a young age, she roamed free along the coast and dove for pearls to help support the family business. they lived modest but good life, surviving mainly off of God's gifts of nature. she spent her days with a careless clan of young tribal musicians called the katinks. they played on cocunts, boar tusk horns, other natural instruments, and hand carved guitars by island master luthiers-(the knights katinks elders). during this impressionable period of her life, she honed her tribal skills in rythm and tone. starting off as skin drummer and then graduating to 2nd chair boar horn player. her outlook on musak reflected the katink-code- to never care much for order and perfection because its the flaws in nature that fuel its evolution. and the creative response to these flaws for survival, and reproductive purposes are a moment in time when perfection happens. it is a panflash in time, but the katinks can feel and believe that they fuel existence. they call this enlightenment "shazeen" older, and slightly wiser, rabs now contributes to the katinks as a "zeena"-of age tribal members whose job it is to invoke creative responses. she joined by her loyal sidekick cheztar the cheetah and other zeenas. her style is soft and and yet firecly intense. she mixes honest vocal stylings with irreverent, spiral forms. sometimes tonal sometimes atonal, one thing is for sure she will sprinkle it with a helping of atypical melody. she is now working on her limited edition debut EP which will focus on her unique tribal style. word is, it will be hand-wrapped in palm leaves, and inoterwoven with sturdy koa wood shavings, and owl feathers. you are sure to find a healthy dose of your favorite katinkas contributing on it as well. in the meantime, i wait with the world and the sea for the new songs on this site and dream of shazeens. dream of shazeens...
