Storytelling combined with strong lyrics is my thing. And it just so happens that I can do that pretty effectively through hip-hop. If it was polka, i'd do polka...well, maybe not polka but you get my point. But my albums are really just movies set to sound with each song serving as a scene and brief interludes are used to link it all together.
Band/artist history
did an experimental album called the outlaw david king: vol.1 that was far more prose than hip-hop, this one is kind of a reverse of that. maybe the interludes take up 7 minutes of the album...maybe. the rest is just music. This one is experimental in a way too. The main character is a falsely accused outlaw recording his life and putting it on the internet with almost no budget and through a moody mic that distorts from time to time. I think what helped the aspect of realism was that I recorded the story on almost no budget and through a moody mic that distorts from time to time.
