PRoCLaiM-ation of Purpose and Life Bio: My Musik erupts out of the spirit of will. The strive and perseverance of the human epic. My existence and message is but a flinch in the grand scheme of the cosmos. However, in realizing this I become a man of the times. The literal center of my conscious universe. A willer and a creator of my environment and surroundings in the time of now. In undergoing great stakes and pains in my journeys through Life, Philosophy, Psychology, and Hip Hop I have finally been able to write, produce, and record my first full-length album, “Question Everything” 20 trks/74min, now on sale. My name ?PRoCLaiM!, which appears with a question mark before the name and an exclamation point afterward to signify that we must always ‘question everything’ before we ?PRoCLaiM! it as true. My music portrays the natural evolution of man in this bewildered age of postmodernism where we still have not found peace and unity on Earth. I was born and raised in the East Los Angeles/ Montebello area in a Chicano world where a regional segregation was blatantly obvious corresponding to the various sides of the city in Los Angeles. In my youth I was involved in a variety of clicks and crews joining a multiplicity of Hip-Hop sub-culture organizations first with b-boying, graffiti, and eventually making the horribly wrong choice of joining a gang. After a long host of trials, tribulations, and an almost a year stay in jail as a juvenile I was fortunate enough to attend a prestigious military academy where I was able to find truth, joy, and a sense of accomplishment through education. I have since been on a life-long quest of knowledge of self in learning the thoughts of others, examining the evidence of the sciences, and most importantly learning how to think for myself in creating my own truths in the honor of the great people who have given them before me. I have combined what was has been known as philosophical thought with music in a way completely new to man. My music is a culmination of culture and thought down the through the urban evolution of Hip Hop music in the South Bronx to the long history of human philosophical thought since the days of Socrates and the Ancient Greeks. I have attained two Bachelors degrees in Psychology and Philosophy from California State University, Fullerton. During that time I fell in love with the consciously positive underground movement of hip hop that was still fermenting strongly at the time with a host of leaders and acts from Nas and Common to Dead Prez and Gangstarr. With my deep-rooted passions for Philosophy and helping people through Psychology, I decided to combine all my academic inquires into conscious musical lyrics with both of a positive message and a an accurate depiction of the history and times we live in today. I have been rocking the mic now for about 5 years and producing beats for about 3. I produced 17 of the 20 tracks on my first album as well as solely wrote, recorded, arranged, mixed, and mastered the entire album virtually all on the solo in my own studio known as ThaCaveStudios. I am currently booking shows, hosting debates, and basically just trying to get my new album “Question Everything” out to the world by any means necessary. I presently work in a locked Psychiatric facility in South Central Los Angeles as a rehab counselor with the chronically mentally ill. My focus is on helping all people in the world attain peace and sanity. I try to inscribe a message of some sort in every song I write (positive or negative) to make people think about the world we live in and perhaps aid them in coming up with their own ideas to make a change to better the earth for all mankind. My lyrics also emphasize the importance of education, the glorification of science to better life, the use of human reason to guide conflict, and a realization of the harm religious indoctrination has caused the world now and throughout the ages. My goal to express pure Free Thought and Inquiry by truly questioning life, self, society, and all the views imposed on me since birth. Raw Humanism then, is the key focus of my music in aiding my fellow man throughout daily existence with dope beats and thoughtful rhymes. Take a minute to cleanse your soul, open your mind, and support true quality free-thought Hip Hop music! The time is now”Question Everything”.ask yourself life’s difficult questions from the religions of the mind to laws of society. “The unexamined life is not worth living”- Socrates. Peace 2 all, “Hip Hop is Life”- - -PRoCLaiMHave you performed in front of an audience?I do live shows occasionally, but I don't really like to though. I prefer writing lyrics, making beats, and putting together songs that people can listen to alone or with others for educational and inspirational enlightenment.
