Pretty Train Crash is a six-member adult contemporary metal band out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. You may be asking yourself, "What in the world is adult contemporary metal?". Well, try mixing the sounds of Faith No More, Alice in Chains, and Depeche Mode. You might just find out.
Formed in December of 2001, Pretty Train Crash have quickly become one of the most talked about bands on the modern music scene. They have also established themselves as local fan favorites, drawing large crowds due to their clever, catchy songs and great on stage presence. Their ability to draw and their unique crossover sound has awarded them opening slots for such diverse Canadian talent as: Noise Therapy, Tuuli, John Ford and the Dirtmitts. Both of the local university radio stations have done feature spots on the band as well as making them a part of their regular rotations. Local music magazine "Stylus" describes the music as being "Elaborately layered well-crafted songs", adding "An open mind and a broad base of interests keep the sound fresh, adding subtleties that slowly reveal themselves. It's an intricate, but not overly complex sound with a lot of energy, emphasis on energy". Due to accesibility of the groups music, Pretty Train Crash have received praise from as far away as Brazil and England. Recorded by studio wizard Rob Shallcross (Universal recording artist "The Harlots", 604/Roadrunner recording artist "Sonic Bloom"), Pretty Train Crash's second EP "Nasty Masterpiece" has received high acclaim from the group's peers and rapidly growing fan base.
