The still photograph memories of the most brilliantly debauched night of your life. The smile locked permanently on your face as you reach into the right front pocket of your stained and almost torn off of you pale green pants. The flash images of heated warfare start a near blackout in your almost disbelieving mind... in your hand...One..Red hair band..Two..Long brown strands of hair..Three..Pictures you can never share...PopiKoK is this. Shhhhhut the Fu&$ up and LISTENBand/artist history
"Why's it orlways gotta be abaht the money? Wot abaht the luv?" Thus, out of the mouth of Vinnie Jones, on the set of "Blast", a soon-to-be-released action feature shot on a huge film set simulating an oil rig in Cape Town, South Africa, the scene was set for the illustrious career of the fabulous and indefinable PoPiKoK. Based around an infectious tribal beat, their first massive cut, "Your Eyes Burn", was already sounding irresistibly huge before renowned producer and remixer Danny Saber got his hands on it. Likewise, "Ultimatum" a simple punk hook based around an equally simple acoustic guitar riff, was swiftly transformed into the sinister ear candy that we know and love today.
The band was formed out of the ashes of two bands: Dexibel and the Zen Cowboys. Michael Satro, main man of Dexibel, and Jan Pomerans, founder of the Zen Cowboys, decided that they'd had enough of being inundated with mediocre, lame, faux-angry so-called music, and that it was about time to kick out the rock driven beat tracks they now give birth to daily. After a mellow run-up, the band is starting to hit its stride, allowing a sample of the "Silver Dollar Manifesto" (kept locked tight inside the mouth of a lion which is inside a forty foot platinum safe just outside the undisclosed location of their studio compound). "There is a plan so large and possibly brilliant that even attempting it will define who we are. And when it works..... The best part is we can't be stopped. It's only up to us. You're fu%^ing curious now, aren't you?", Satro throws from his lips as Jan quickly adds, "It's all down to the music anyway. We rip it out of our chests, throw it at out to you and when it's released we can't do any more than drink booze, play with beautiful birds and wait for the answer. But it's always the music that speaks the strongest". Spot-appearing in Los Angeles clubs to release the energy and test the music, PoPiKoK is already causing a widespread word-of-mouth love puddle all over Los Angeles.
The band's sound is hard to define, but has elements of the Stereo MCs, Iggy Pop, the Stone Roses, the Happy Mondays, Love & Rockets, Primal Scream, and late-60s-early-70s Rolling Stones. Quite simply, they rock.Have you performed in front of an audience?Spot playing dates in Los Angeles to test the tracks as we finish our first album. We are kicking in the backdoor and leaving it up to the music first. Once it's burning in your blood then we'll release the lion and toss it in your lap. Keep an eye out you'll have a couple chances to taste a little of the......

Our drummer Justin uses a 3 piece set a lot of the time and plays smooth as air. "We have everything but it's not about showing how technically great you are. That takes away from the music. Hello Guys! I didn't get a chance to come by and say thank you for the KEWL post you left on our MB right BEFORE we got deleted so I want to say thanks for that NOW as well leave you a public service announcement from Broken Sainthood just in case it happens AGAIN!
If you feel this is Spam since I'm cutting and pasting this morning then I sincerely apologize and please just delete the message. But let me just explain why I am posting to anyone who has ever shown support or posted on our message board in the past. The last time we disappeared it was without notice and without explanation. We would never have even tried to return except our Broken Sainthood in-box received almost 300 messages in just three days from fans and friends wondering just what happened to us here as well as showing us much support. The emails were too much to handle and we felt we would try to sneak back onto SoundClick without telling anyone right before midnight Jan 19th and see if maybe SoundClick would a
