PJ, born Peter Essoka, lived in Chicago Illinois and Cameroon, West Africa with his family. As a student at Carl Schurz High School and Rain forest International, PJ captured the attention of many with his quick wit and dimples and of course his music. The west side of Chicago Ushered this man to undreamed freedoms that only he, the master of his music, could experience. The strong spiritual side of PJ saved what could be a disconnected life.
Life in West Africa was distinctly opposite than that of the life in
Chicago, and traveling to and from both places intensified his ideas of what love and happiness is. Consequently, his respect of his parents and love for his sisters do no falter.
