Took some piano and guitar lessons. Wrote first full song at 15 - now have an original song catalog of approximately 220 songs. Started multitrack recording in 1988, progressing from 4- and 8-track cassette to computer multitracking.
I play guitars (including bass), keys, drums/percussion, and a bit of harmonica, and sing.
I rarely play live outside of my house as a solo artist. I prefer the interaction of playing in a band. In my first band I alternated between keys and guitar, but in my last three bands I have played bass.
Pop/rock, folk, blues, singer-songwriter music. Artists who've influenced me include The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, The Kinks, and many others, mostly classic rock bands and singer/songwriters.
My main acoustic guitar is a Taylor 510-LTD; main electric is an Epiphone G-400 (SG copy); main basses are a Hofner 500/1 CT and a Rickenbacker 4003S; drum kit is a 4-piece Ludwig sparkly blue set with Remo heads and Zildjian cymbals; keys are a Yamaha PSR-320; and I record into a Windows XP computer equipped with Adobe Audition software and Layla multitrack soundcard.
