These Things These Things
A new song recorded with a slightly modified setup. It sounds a little ragged in places, but that was the idea, I assure you :)

Out There Out There
My latest recording. A heavier feel than usual, but fun nonetheless

Blues Bother Blues Bother
June 2003 - I felt the urge to write and record a blues song, so one sunny weekend above a pub in Aberystwyth, that's exactly what I did!

The Truth Beneath The Truth Beneath
October 2002 - A slightly different direction for me using mostly midi instruments and alot of guitar effects.

Carnival Chaos Carnival Chaos
My first foray into the world of beats and loops. Just a bit of fun really, and something that needs playing LOUD!

My name is Pete Arnold and I'm a spare-room recording artist living in Coventry. I've been into music all my life, and on my recordings so far, I supply vocals, guitars, bass, keyboards and drum programming
Band/artist history
It was inevitable I suppose - with my family being the way they are, I couldn't help but become obsessed with music!
Having been writing songs and singing in bands since the age of sixteen, four years ago I took the plunge and began to record solo versions of my own music. It's been a long, slow process, and there's still a bit of cleaning up to do on several tracks now that I've got better equipment, but I have the basis of a full album of original material.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I haven't played live since I left the last band I was in last year. In recent years I've played at various pubs and clubs around the country, and busked from Aberystwyth Sea-Front to Mulhouse in Eastern France. I'm currently in the process of re-arranging a few of my songs to suit a one-man acoustic feel for gigs.
Your musical influences
My influences and musical loves are way too eclectic to list here. I suppose on the tracks I have here, the main influences would probably include U2, Joy Division, MC Solaar, Queen, George Harrison and Billy Corgan
What equipment do you use?
My equipment basically consists of various guitars (Yamaha and Washburn acoustics, Tanglewood and Westfield Electrics, Hohner and Epiphone Basses), Vox and Park amps, Zoom effects, Roland and Yamaha synth equipment and a large diaphram condenser mic all going through a Behringer Eurorack MX1604A mixer into a PC running Fruity Loops and Steinberg Nuendo
Anything else?
It seems to be exceptionally difficult for solo artists to get anywhere without a backing band, so I figure if you like my music, tell your friends... one of them might work for EMI!
I hope you take a little time to listen to my songs, and leave any feedback in my message board.

Hey Pete, listening to the remastered Streets right now. Yeah, much better sounds although I'm not sure about the arrangement, it seems to drag a bit... Still, ever the picky one eh? ;)
While I was here I had a listen to Out There and I have to admit that's much more my style. Nice pair of rock bollocks on that one, ya know what I mean. Good sound too....
Keep well man...
Hi Pete!
I'm listening to 'By My Side'. I love the harmonies! Great vocals and gentle guitar work. I saw you at SongPlanet and decided to explore your site here a bit. Wonderful music....
