I and my twin sister Stephanie Polek grew up in Texas and Scotland -- true! We got into creating music on traditional instruments, moved on to creating digitally on the computer as well. My Celtic music is often based around original compositions by Stephanie. She lives in New York and I live in California. If she weren't such a lazy ass, we'd do more cross-country collabs. Heh.
Celtic traditional like Clannad, Celtic rock like Runrig, world & classical rock like Vanessa-Mae. Silly stuff like Weird Al Yankovic & Ray Stevens.
Digital Orchestrator Pro and SoundFonts backed up by traditional instruments for arrangement, MusicMatch to convert to MP3 format, Windows XP to bugger the lot.
Thank God for Photoshop. (Trivia: count the cliches in my photo! Brick wall, half face, Eye Of Intensity, etc...)
Thanks...a good piece!Hey Paula...I like yer style as well yer music. Keep up the good wrok!!
Ya might be enjoyin mine...please stop by and give a listen when ya got time.
BCAs I said fairly recently in another musician's comment box, I am by no means a music elitist and have no truck with musicians who rock the classics. Pachelbel's Canon is one of my all-time faves, and this rendition is exquisite, and even though it takes a bit of license in order to provide a modern interpretation of an old melody, it still proves that beauty not only endures, but can even evolve. Five stars.Congratulations for your Boatman ma'am. It is really beautiful. May you create more Boatmen.120,470 views
Hi there! I just now came across your version of "Canon" by way of a user (Not sure if you're one in the same) who added my version to their SC Station in addition to yours,& just that title attracted me to it! Very impressive version;quite a bit more faithful than mine, though my version is a bit unique if I do say so myself! I do mine in what I can only describe as a "Hard rock/heavy metal" mid tempo march style, featuring a driving ascending/descending Bass line,& 3 harmony Lead Guitars building to a crescendo finale of some major shredding ! May not be exactly to your taste, then again it might be! Check it out when you can & my other stuff (Mostly Instrumental rock,& some Acoustic stuff too);I'll definitely be checking out more of your stuff too, you've got quite a bit of talent!
