I play a lot of instrument; I don't read or write notes; I never think about chord names when I make music; Stephen Murray & Matt Martin of the Porches play with me and co-write some of my songs.
Ive been recording with lots of different people since junior-high, about 8 yrs in all. I started with a Tascam 4track and now I'm using a digital 16track or an Apple with at least 36 tracks. I moved down here to North Carolina from Ohio about a year ago. Stephen came down from Canada but hes been here quite a few years. Matt has lived here his whole life I believe.
I have not yet, this is what a real band is good for.
I like Sigur Ros, Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, M83, Aphex Twins, Iron & Wine, Kings Of Convenience, etc.
We use Gibson, Ibanez, Crestline, Martin, Fender, and Ovation guitars; Ibanez, fender, and custom-made basses; Fender banjo; Mapex, Tama, Premier and Pearl drums; Yamaha drum-machine; Akai and Apple recording equipment; Roland piano and Akai synth; Behringer mix-board; Shure, Nady and MXL mics; Marshall, Line6 and Ampeq amps
It is best to listen to most of these songs through headphones, cause I was def using headphones to master them, especially "Oui!", "Hopei", and "Hasha." Alot of these are older songs, but considering my age at the time I'm still proud of them.
