Evelyn May Barret - Born 1923 and passed away June 22, 2008.
At the age of 53, Pat (as she was better known...a nickname that suited her 'Irish' good looks) picked up a guitar and started learning it. Shortly thereafter, Pat started composing hymns in a country-western fashion to the praise and love of her God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Her voice here was captured on tape by herself and she wanted her hymns to be heard by anyone and everyone. If you like the song and want to use it for worship, please contact us by email - we would love to hear of your interest in our mother's music.
Mom, as she was known to us, her family, will be greatly missed, but here forever, is her wonderful 'Patsy Cline-esque' voice and her wonderful hymns for all to hear.
M Barret & Family
Pat Barret sang for the troops in England, during WWII. She had always been a singer (Welsh roots have that effect on people :-) ). In her 40's, she took up Spanish Dancing and was 'showing off her moves' to folks even within a month before her passing.
Mom found God in her 50's and her music was a reflection of her powerful and exemplary faith. We (her 3 children) learned a lot from her and loved her much.
Mom played a 12 string Yamaha most of her life.
Miss you mom! We'll meet soon enough...the way things go so fast in this life.
Love from all your kids and from Nancy too!
