She's Magnetic She's Magnetic

Anthemic electric rock. You know that one girl who always has cold hands and static electricity? Here she is. Rub this song on a ballon and stick it on the wall.

DIY Chicago quartet plays catchy melodic garage pop with a heaping helping of rock that has drawn comparisons to Big Star, Guided by Voices, Superchunk, Pavement, Love, Wilco, The Beach Boys and Material Issue.
Band/artist history
Chicago quartet Paper Airplane Pilots have been around in various incarnations since the mid-90s when singer/songwriter/guitarist Jeremiah Wallis and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Duffy began as a teenage duo in rural Somonauk, IL. Inspired by The Beatles, Nirvana, Guided by Voices, Material Issue, The Pixies and Teenage Fanclub the Pilots cut their teeth in basements and local clubs honing their pop craftsmanship and raw rocking skills. Moving to Chicago in 1998, the boys invited good friends Eric Stegemann (bass) and Joe Chellino (drums) to join the band. Soon they began performing their live shows at legendary Chicago venues such as Schuba's, Lounge Ax, and The Empty Bottle. The Pilots wrote heaps of material during this period and sorted out the best of the bunch to record for their debut EP "Welcome to the Drunk Tank" in 2001 and debut LP "The History of Flying" released on Spade Kitty Records in July 2003. With a new line-up consisting of drummer Tom Collier (Minim, Lolita Haze) and bassist Jim Kompare (Uniform) the Pilots embarked on their first tour to the East Coast to promote “The History of Flying” in September 2003. Since its release, the album has been a consistent top seller on Not Lame.com, reaching fans across the U.S., Europe and Japan. Several “History of Flying” cuts have received radio play on national and international commercial and college radio stations. With the follow-up to “History of Flying” already written, the Pilots will begin self-producing and recording their sophomore album in December for a 2004 release. The Pilots are frequently labeled power-pop, which is a tag the Pilots are proud to carry but hope to surprise listeners with a sound that can’t be so easily defined on their next album.
