Waiting for Dolma Waiting for Dolma
Dolma is the Tibetan name for the Buddhist Bodhisattva Tara. A Bodhisattva is a mythical being who grants blessings and empowerments and when meditated upon can help one move closer to realisation.
Half a Person Half a Person
When I wrote this song I was thinking about a couple who have spent their whole life together, and then one of them dies, and how it might feel to be left behind
Throw My Drugs Away Throw My Drugs Away
If the world was a nicer place, I'd thow my drugs away...
Hey there, thanks to everyone who's digging 'Waiting for Dolma' at the moment - up to number 9 in the UK Acoustic General charts!
Please check out my website, where you can find out more about me, and buy the EP!!! www.padmadelic.com.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes I play live, mostly in London. I am currently recording an album which will be released in 2006. I'll be touring (with band) to promote that. Check out my website if you'd like to know when I'm next playing - and email me if there's a venue near you that you think would be a good place for me to play.
Your musical influences
Nick Drake, Ellott Smith, Donovan, Bob Dylan, erm, Bjork, Bob Marley, er..., Chumbawamba, Beck, scratches head..., Simon & Garfunkel, Six Organs of Admittance, Joanna Newsom, Bonnie Prince Billy, Buddhist chanting... But then there's also ambient, chill out, electronic stuff, and in earlier years I was into Jane's Addiction, the Pixies, Pogues, mad about The Smiths and The Cure when I was 16 - and I'm sure it's all made its way into the music one way or another. What equipment do you use?
I got a nice Yamaha acoustic with a Fishman transducer pick up, a US-made Fender Strat Deluxe (nice), and I use a bunch of synths too (mostly soft synths). I also have a bass, and from time to time use stuff out of the kitchen - lentils in a jar etc. And recently I've been getting into taking out the minidisc and recording traffic and birds and stuff. I'm turning into quite a geek. But then there's music EVERYWHERE.Anything else?
Please check out my website. I have a blog on there which is regularly updated and a bunch of links to interesting stuff, as well as lots more about ME ME ME. Thanks. Also I love feedback - please send me an email or leave a message on the message board. Muchas graciasContact
