Band/artist history
One Thread consists of only two musicians and one back up singer. Founded in Detroit, Nicholas and Jason Trzos grew up with music in their veins. At age 11 Nicholas started playing the drums and quickly became the most talented percussionist in Detroit. Guitar has been Jason's main instrument since age 12. Along the way he has mastered the bass, synthesizer, and his vocal skills. The duo moved to California in 1999. Since then, they have gone through various line up changes. Changes which resulted in one final resolution; One Thread live is a two man show, with the exception of their back up vocalist; Jennifer Lyn. Her presence onstage is unequaled. Stunningly beautiful, she keeps a sort of quiet complacence both in sound and appearance. Her breathy lyrical style gives One Thread an edge no other band posesses. The rhythmic pulse of drummer Nicholas keeps the music alive and afloat, using some of the most amazing techniques and styles ever applied to percussion. His unique style actually creates melodies from traditional beats and patterns. The original material rendered is the brainchild of instrumentalist/vocalist Jason. His guitar skills are unmatched in today's music scene, bringing you back to a time when knowing how to play an instrument actually mattered. The bass lines are driven and exciting, always complimenting the guitars while maintaining a solid basis with the drums. Synthesizers are used in ways that always thicken their sound and never overpower the melody. The vocals are truly inspiring; they're angelic but brash, beautiful and emotive. Jason's style blends perfectly with some of the most original soundscapes ever written. One Thread has recently released a cd sampler of their music titled "The Defining Sacrifice" which is available locally in San Diego. They have performed at Dreamstreet, Brick by Brick, and Xanth. Upon recent completion of their press kit and demo they plan to expand their roster of shows in San Diego and eventually hit the remainder of Southern California. One Thread has also been collaborating in the studio with fellow San Diegans and hip hop artists; Da Limelite. Creating a new brand of music, they plan to change the music scene and bring hip hop and metal together in ways no other musicians have even attempted. Hold your breath...One Thread is the band the metal world has been waiting for.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Locally, in San Diego. Playing live is what we were put on this planet to do. Honestly, every moment is special onstage. There is no other feeling like performing a song in front of people and getting different reactions.
Your musical influences
The bands which have influenced One Thread definitely shine through in their music. Everything from Pink Floyd to Metallica to the Deftones, Tool, the Doors, even a little Cradle of Filth and Faith No More. As much as these bands influenced One Threads' approach to their sound, such a wide array of genres has allowed One Thread to hone a truly original style, one that's all their own. One Thread also listens to Lacuna Coil, Disturbed, Alice in Chains, Pantera, Slayer, Tristania, White Zombie and countless others.
