Art Imitating Art... Redefining the essence of a jam band; Every note of every song is taken from lengthy improvisational jam sessions. The influence of progressive metal and polyrhythmic jazz is undeniable. This causes a flow of music that can be eloquent and schizophrenic all within the same measure. The lack of form within the songs is due to the fact that our ultimate goal is to inspire every emotion possible and let the listener decide for themselves how it makes them feel, rather than telling them how it should make them feel. We strive to touch every corner of the human psyche and in doing so unravel the enigma that is Nyos.Have you performed in front of an audience?Bars, clubs, anywhere people will stand still long enough to listen.
Your musical influences
Pretty much everythingAnything else?
The funny thing about music is that it always comes back around. Just like fashion...F*** THAT..just like The Mighty Ducks. I have heard from several reliable sources that many of the major labels are looking at Greensboro and this area in general as the next Seattle. That is exciting and disturbing at the same time. To be a part of a musical revolution on that grandiose a scale and to be a part of something that could only happen in that tiny corner of time and never again is something that could make or break so many great musicians, and as I sit here listening to Jimi Hendrix play the catfish blues I can't help but think that perhaps we are all creatures of not only habit, but of purpose. We serve our time and fill our positions to the letter. Never knowing what is around the next bend but always hoping for the best. There is always one thing that drives us but to many it will always be an enigmatic intangible just out of grasp...but that's the real point isn't it? And there is some real comfort in not knowing. Like when the astronauts went into space for the first time. They knew that no matter what happened they would be immortals... and so shall we.
