The Hypnotic Songstress vocalist and lyricist, NuDawns provocative style lyrically lullabies your senses to create a melodious atmosphere for your escape into a pleasurable and thought provoking world. When at total peace, you will find her somewhere alone, in a dimly lit room or perhaps in the park with a set of earphones on - creating passionate lyrics on various topics that resonate deep within her heart. NuDawns life long love affair with music has finally cumulated into her first steps in accomplishing her dream to nationally serenade people from all walks of life.
Born and raised near Chicago, NuDawns passion for performing was encouraged by her mother at an early age. Her avid thirst for the arts took shape in ballet, gymnastics, tap, jazz dancing and singing in the Church Choir and Performing Arts Program. NuDawn traveled to participate in countless recitals and competitions also participating in the Our Little Miss pageants for the state of Illinois, placing consistently in the top three. Later, NuDawn became the lead singer of a teenage band that performed top R&B/Soul cover songs until the band dissolved. She holds a degree in Psychology/Social Work and is an Ordained Minister.
The Hypnotic Songstress has capitulated into the music scene with an amazing sound that blends smooth R&B, Neo-Soul, Jazz and Gospel genres harmoniously into a unique style. Her influences: Sade, Billie Holiday, Gabriella Anders, Diana Ross, Barbara Streisand and Dionne Warwick would have to agree that NuDawns style is as individually smooth and intriguing as the woman herself.
From NuDawns music arises self-written lyrics with great resonance, passion and purpose. Her début project A Nu Day Dawning released in 2006 was created with grit and emotion and sold over 4,000 copies. Watch for NuDawn's next CD "Outta My Dreams" to be released in the fall of 2013 - a compilation of inspirational, jazz and R&B ballads to keep you centered in peace and relaxation.Have you performed in front of an audience?NuDawn is performing locally in the Atlanta, GA area. Hello NuDawn!I must say that I luv your single "Sailing" and if your CD is a continuation of what I've heard, I'm sure you will have a great deal of success. I'm a local promoter here in Cleveland I've been doing this for seven (7) years, I normally shut down my year in June and start back up September or October, most of my venue have anywhere from 100 to 300 people showing up and I also can get some sponsors both local and national depending on the venue. I hope this sounds like something that might interest you and if so, I would like for you or one of your people to get in touch with me to see if we can set something up for the fall or when you go on tour.
