Band/artist history
On one frostbitten afternoon in Jackson, Tennessee, 4 men came together with a vision a vision to change the history of mankind. How would they accomplish this, you ask? They would accomplish this by making the most graceful music that the human ear has ever been blessed with. Before this certain afternoon, North of Everywhere had past identities. The group started playing together as early as 6th grade under the name “Azma” (from a medical condition that guitar mastermind/virtuoso Stephen Carroll suffered from). Many songs were constructed but were far too brutal to be unleashed to the public. This name eventually wore off and the group became known as Kerosene. The band took a hiatus from touring at this point to focus on their solo careers. Will Hayden, the distinctive voice of the band, focused his solo career on operatic singing. Stephen Carroll focused on music as an art form while touring the globe doing guitar clinics for various music institutions. A few years later in 2005, they met up again. Both were interested in a partial reformation of the band. The two recruited Josh Jenkins, a successful latino drummer known for his eccentric rhythms. They also found Peter Snell, an accomplished root beer can player who displays his virtuoso talent on the band’s second single “Blood Spaghetti”. Snell also lent his voice to the band by doing lead vocals in “Blood Spaghetti” and back-up vocals in “Field of Dread”. Matthew Simon also made an appearance on the band’s third single “Sasquatch” by imitating and mimicking the sound of joyful children. But playing such brutal music night in and night out on tour took its toll on the band members. The band decided to call it quits after their fourth single “Serendipitous Phantasmagoria” which caused many fans to fall into a deep depression. The band began to drift apart. The two core members, Will Hayden and Stephen Carroll, and Matthew Simon remained in the Jackson area but Josh Jenkins and Peter Snell moved to Knoxville and Searcy, Arkansas, respectively. Stephen Carroll and Will Hayden tried to forget their past but it just wasn’t meant to be, so I am proud to announce the for the first time publicly that the band is back and is now known as North of Everywhere! They will be going into the studio to cut some tracks in the near future. One can only imagine the brutality of their new music seeing as how they have stored up many emotions in the past year. A late winter/early spring release is expected for the new tracks.
