The group N.I.T. was formed in March of 1998 in the city who brought you Charles S. Dutton's ground breaking HBO mini-series, "The Corner" in 2000. Then theres David Simon's 2004 Peabody-winning HBO drama series "The Wire and same creator of the hit TV show Homicide. Theyre the hottest and most versatile rappers from Baltimore Maryland. Ered, PO, Thirst, and Alex Sosa are childhood friends who styles originated in the open-air drug markets in the streets of east and west Baltimore. America's nightmare for the war on drugs with addicts and low-level drug dealers on every block steady working the twin-engine economy of heroin and cocaine. These gentlemen tell you the true stories of criminal minded hopes and fears and contradictions of day-to-day struggles living in a grimy city with crossfire over territorial boundaries. Each artist is unique in his own right, which makes N.I.T. an unstoppable force in the music world. Po has the smooth breakdown method of words play making a new definition meaning for a word after its twisted and turned. Hes a poet at best. Thirst uses his deep baritone with Baltimore g- slang. He delivers crisp sharp punch lines lightening hard to the ear. Thirst is the thug practitioner spitting funky fresh and on point. E-red attacks the microphone with careless sparkling wordplay that's dope, slurred. Ered enlightens listeners with his battle technique style. Hes the cleverologist telling his story in freestyle format that you can visualize. Last theirs Alex Sosa's raspy voice and lyrical arsenal attack. His harmony adds pleasure to your ears as he lays soothing hooks and adds the finishing touches like godfathers are supposed to. Sosa voice is distinct. His criminal centric lyrics and homicidal words play are horrific to the ears at times when he laces the track mobster style. He calls out to Beware of him. N.I.T. has proven themselves with great songs, star power, originality, uniqueness, and their marketability. Their live performances have been documented in places such as; New Yorks Temple of hip Hop with KRS ONE, The Paradox, New York International Music Festival at Madison Square Garden, The Downtime, NYC 91.9FM Promo Radio and Urban Threshold Television, Baltimore Live, The Baltimore Athletic Club, The Twilight Zone, Morgan State College, Los Angeles 100.3 The Beat, Club Lingerie and Stones in Hollywood. Their raw flows on record are only matched by their live performances. Several underground projects are released to the streets as follows; 12" LP 2001 The Family and 12 LP 2004 Heat. Cd's are 2002 The Family, 2003 Heat, and 2004 The Great Baltimore Fire . All independent CDs at the demand of the streets. Their life poetry according to listeners is riveting, explosive, powerful, transcendent, addictive, satisfying, and revolutionary. They have been sought after by several labels which no deal has been inked yet. Some dates to note are: 10/10/04 - 11/23/04 The Heavyweights Record Pool in Los Angeles ranked "That's The Way I Feel" # 23 on their top 30 chart. 12/6/04- 1/15/05 Sirius Satellite Hip-Hop Nation channel 40 played "Brighter Day's" for over a month. 6/23/05 Sirius Satellite channel 50 Hot Jamz played "That's The Way I Feel", for several weeks. Kickback and enjoy the story tails of Baltimore.
