The New Danger was created in 2009 by Zach "Holiday" Alkana and Lloyd Knox. The band started off to a rough start and took until the end of 2011 to decide that they would be a two piece band. With so many influences from jimi hendrix, John Frusante, Mos Def, Nas, The Black keys and many other countless bands, that its almost impossible to label the band as a specific Genre. From hip hop songs like gone, to ballads like As you to Hard rock songs like Ballad of Orpheus and California Burning, its not hard to see that THE NEW DANGER will be the next big thing to come out of the underground music scene.
The New Danger consists of Zach on the Guitar and vocals and Lloyd as the percussionist and Vocalist. With a nice list of places already performed, they are broadening their audience by playing to more hip hop shows. Backed by King Dice of Jooseboxx.com and 3D beats, the duo is working non stop to finish their first album and working on a California tour.
With both musicians coming from two different worlds, it creates the perfect blend of creativity and passion. Born in West Covina, Zach moved alone frequently around the Inland Empire until he landed in Victorville, CA at the age of 11. Zach learned his first song on guitar at the age of 12. His father played a big role in learning of the guitar at a very young age, sitting him down and teaching it to him. He didn't pick up the guitar seriously until he hit high school and played songs on the bus, at school, where ever he was when something inside of him sparked and just needed to play.
Lloyd Knox fell in love with hip hop at the age of 10. Listening to Tupac, Dr. Dre and snoop dogg. But it wasn't until he heard Nas "Nas is like" and Mos Defs "Ms. Fat Booty" that he truly became consumed by the music and the culture. Knox spent years crafting his skill to get to the level he believed he needed to get attention from big local artist. As far as drumming goes, Lloyd knox didn't pick up the drums until October of 2011. And after only playing for a month, he stepped up to the plate and played his first show to get the band going. Not even a year later, The New danger is being recognized as an innovative and creative duo that seems to have no limits...Have you performed in front of an audience?We love to play live! We're currently touring around southern california as we attempt to create a reputation as a great live band. We've had great moments on stage and off stage, but i dont believe we have any REAL special moment.
