Hey everyone, my name is Paul Brandt, and thanks for checking out my music.
Band/artist history
I started taking piano lessons in fourth grade. I quit for a while, and eventually came back to it in middle school. I picked up guitar for the first time in 8th grade, trying to teach myself in place of actual lessons. That year I also started writing songs, and really started developing my passion for music. In my junior year of high school I recorded my first real album in my basement. It was called Waiting and if you'd like to know more about it, I've posted all of the songs on this site. That summer I recorded a piano solo album, Reflections. Those songs are also posted here. My most recent full project was with a friend of mine, a great guitarist, Scott Hayden. It was actually an English project, but we were able to incorporate music, composing songs for the major literary works we had read that year in class. This Capstone project was finished towards the end of my senior year, and most of the songs are up on here. Lately, I've been in a bit of a creative slump, but I'm starting to come back from it, slowly but surely. This summer I hope to do some more recording in my basement, and with any luck it'll be enough for another full album. I'm very excited about the prospect of starting a new project, if only to help push my past endeavors further behind me. I've also played with a jam band, Squiggy Funk, and a folk / rock band, Fine. Squiggy Funk has a Soundclick page (www.soundclick.com/thesquiggyfunk) with all of our songs on it, and Fine will be releasing our first (and probably only) album very soon. Send me a message if you're interested in knowing more about either band. Thanks again and I hope you enjoy my music.
