Homecoming

a homecoming of sorts...coming home isn't always a homecoming...
sad keys schneider kath
some people get by with a little understanding, some people get by with a whole lot more..
think back to when the Rubettes smashed onto the scene with 'Sugar Baby Love' and pop music would never be the same again, kind of like an open invitation for ABBA to have it's wicked way...plus how the world seemed less complicated and more focussed on serious issues as opposed to Tik Tok or Instagram and if we don't think we've lost something we're crazy...but if we think it's coming back anytime soon then we are complete fools. Michael Keaton in a scene from 'Birdman' is here due to his brilliant acting abilities as well as the late great John Belushi...dig Mike & John, supreme talents for sure! can you still recall in the juke box hall when the music played and the world spun round to a brand new sound in those far off days.. in their blue suede shoes they would scream and shout as they sang the blues, let it all hang out.. rock and roll...

Story behind the song
songs tell stories and stories can make for good songs and the world will spin on it's axis until it doesn't...
Lyrics
And what I felt Comin’ back to say I’m sorry I couldn’t be...any more than when I left But you know there were things not said ...and things that I can never forget You don’t have to be that one Who knows that they’ve done wrong You don’t have to be that one You don’t have to be You don’t have to be the one That stands in the doorway of hell Tryin’ to buy and sell Your way back to me (good-bye) You don’t have to be the one Who changes their mind from day to day Only to say goodbye, goodbye Only to say goodbye But don’t you know That when you leave, you don’t have to go But don’t you know That when you leave, you don’t have to go Oh yeah Don’t you know? ...but you don’t know...

You've captured the melancholy emotions very well in this song. Wistful melody & vocals with a great piano accompaniment. I think it comes across more powerfully because you weren't tempted to over-produce or add too many instruments. Subtle, yet reaches out & conveys the feelings.
