something a bit different to ring in the new year, lol! 'ding dong, ding dong, ding dong, ding dong...ring out the old, ring in the new...ring out the false, ring in the true...'

some people get by with a little understanding, some people get by with a whole lot more..
think back to when the Rubettes smashed onto the scene with 'Sugar Baby Love' and pop music would never be the same again, kind of like an open invitation for ABBA to have it's wicked way...plus how the world seemed less complicated and more focussed on serious issues as opposed to Tik Tok or Instagram and if we don't think we've lost something we're crazy...but if we think it's coming back anytime soon then we are complete fools. Michael Keaton in a scene from 'Birdman' is here due to his brilliant acting abilities as well as the late great John Belushi...dig Mike & John, supreme talents for sure! can you still recall in the juke box hall when the music played and the world spun round to a brand new sound in those far off days.. in their blue suede shoes they would scream and shout as they sang the blues, let it all hang out.. rock and roll...

Story behind the song
an old rocker of ours which we've dusted off so as to give it an airing just in time to say goodbye to '25, and welcome in '26 - there's a lot of hard rock influences here but main one being The Angels (Angel City in the US) - Doc Neeson was the consummate showman fronting this Adelaide outfit from the 70's and I've def borrowed from Doc's style a plenty here...dig The Angels, dig Doc! Great Aussie movie called 'In Search of Anna', which featured these boys and their iconic 'Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again' way, way back in 1978...saw it as a kid and was immediately sold...of further note there was a song also called 'Hard Road' on that soundtrack, a song by Stevie Wright and Harry Vanda and George Young (Angus Young's brother) - these guys were from Albert Studios and their work with all these bands and artists was iconic, almost a religious experience (lol) and immediately recognisable with their trademark sound - growing up in the 70's we were so lucky to have Albert records and Vanda & Young.
Lyrics
Come on down So I’ve been thinkin’ bout a second chance Think it’s time to maybe go to France Bought some tickets so I’m ready to go But Orly baby it’s still a hard road Oh oh oh Oh oh oh I'm a mile outta Penn Street Station And I got problems with an autocratic nation Well I don’t know what she’s trying to do I don’t even think she likes you What's with this hyperinflation Just give me some rationalisation I don’t know what she’s tryin’ to say And I don’t know what she’s tryin’ to do But just stay outta my way Just another day She’s a chance at a ticket outta here I'm still tryin’ to make it over this year I don’t want to think about it in time Don’t want to be left in line Oh oh oh Oh oh oh Just stay outta my way Just stay outta my way
