Em Blues BT with Strat lead and vocals. Bit "proggy". Trying to use words that don't nicely fit the rhythm structure - tricky. Trying to get an atmosphere. Strat via Nano Holy Grail Reverb and Artec Blues Pedal into Vox AC4TV and mic recorded to PC.

Story behind the song
The Em Blues BT (by Rafal Zychal on Gilmourish.com) sounded nicely mournful - the mood fitted the words to a piece called Red Deer by Sandra Patterson. Which wasn't written with the idea of being used in music - so it made the singing even trickier than usual. How do people like Peter Hammill manage irregular meter so easily?
Lyrics
What motion slips silent
Through the winter-deadened wood?
Wraiths of silent purpose
A family there stood, alert
And listening, listening
With studied intent.
We stopped and saw them
Staring, blank faced, serene
Cushion-hoofed amidst the ferns
And grass of bottle green.
Waiting, Waiting, till some still sign
Electrifies the frozen air
Solidified by impending night
Eyes straining in the fading light.
Then bound, as one, on some
Silent signal, legs tight sprung
Lifting, bouncing away on
Noiseless ground,
Sponge hoofs making not a sound.
Breaking from the wood,
Across a field, unreal
The moment captured only in my eye,
Against the yellow straw
Glowing dully in the
Fading winter light.
We stopped and saw them
Staring, blank faced, serene
Cushion-hoofed amidst the ferns
And grass of bottle green.
