True hip hop for all the people that love real hip hop
Growing up KâNâF (Kyle Findlay) was always surrounded by an older crowd, as he was the youngest of three children to two hardworking middle class parents. KNF was surrounded by Hip-Hop, and would soon realize he had a talent when he began writing rhymes at the age of 15. KNF always kept to himself about his musical talent, he would slowly let people hear some of his songs and it was a shock for everyone to hear, because of his quiet personality. As he kept getting positive feedback on his songs, KNF would start to take his music more serious and started recording on a regular basis.
KNF was Born in Toronto, Ontario but raised in the small city of Kitchener. KNF knew he could make a lot of noise and bring back the true sound of Hip-Hop. KNF is known for his truthful lyrics as well as his ability to tell storyâs that everyone can relate to. KNF grew up listening to Nas, 2pac, A Tribe Called Quest, Jay-z, and Common Sense just to name a few. What makes KNF unique is his vast musical taste. In addition to Hip Hop, KNF also draws much of his inspiration from Smooth jazz acts such as Boney James and Brian Culbertson, to Japanese hip hop fused productions of the late Nujabes and Samon Kawasura. Music has made such a big impact on KNFâs life. It helped him too understand himself as well as others. What KNF hopes to do is bring the good feeling of the 90s back while pushing creativity in the 2000âs to new heights.
KNF works with anyone who is serious and motivated to create good music, whether youâre a local artist or a major artist, KNF shows his dedication with his creative lyrical ability. KNF dreams to build a base with other young artist that are true to self and seek to inspire with their music. KNF received a buzz from South Bronx New York when he collaborated with Justus League member Chaundon on the song âœLife We Liveâ. Chaundon quoted âœIâve had the pleasure to collaborate with KNF. His music and subject matter impressed and inspired me. Itâs a breath of fresh air to see a young aspiring artist work toward greatness. I believe he will be the next artist to watch.â KNF has also worked with Slaughterhouse member Joell Ortiz and many other big names such as R&B sensation Kim Davis.
As a new artist KNF has a lot going for him for the future, with his EP âœSilent Truth Loud Realityâ coming for late 2010 which features artist Joell Ortiz, Theology 3, PG, Kid Famous, and producers such as T-NYCE, Big Sproxx, and Amir just to name a few. KNF is looking to shock the music industry and bring back the true meaning of Hip-Hop. He intends to do so by bridging the gap between to quote on quote âœundergroundâ and âœMainstreamâ division of hip hop. Rather than focus on appealing to one specific crowd KNF wishes to create a new sound that transcends traditional categories.
KNF is not only an artist he also is a writer for urban magazine and website AVONTINC. He has had the pleasure of interviewing Belly, Danny Fernandes, DY, Adele (of 91.5 the beat), DJ Crunch, Chaundon, and has many more to come in the future. Similar to his music, KNF uses his skills as an interviewer to create relevant discussion on the status and issues of hip hop as well as highlight the love of this wonderful art form.
