i'm a retired trucker who sometimes longs to be back on the road and decided to write about some of my memories on thew road.

and a thousand memories flood my wandering mind
from the port of missisauga to the banks of the rio grande.
a truckers life is plagued with smoky bears and the dot.
and all the careless drivers that crowd the open road.
when it comes to his driving he has to be the best.
because his profession's riding on the trucker's code.
i sure do miss the sounds of the big rigs on the highway
as the black smoke rolls from both those shiny stacks
the white lines on the highway seem to hypnotize
as i watch the rich folks passin'in their cadillac's.
i guess it doesn't hurt to reminiscence a little bit.
and relive a few memories of the days of yesteryear.
my dues have all been paid by the silver in my hair.
the loss of sleep is payment of the wrinkles that appear.
