Growing up in Austria, I founded my first band in 1994 playing bass, which has remained my main instrument ever since. From early on, I was the kind of musician who composed the music around existing lyrics. Over the years, a lot has changed: from my very first recordings on cassette tapes, to the first steps with Cool Edit Pro, and eventually moving on to Logic each stage shaped my sound and approach. With the internet, it became easier to connect with lyricists and musicians from all over the world and turn ideas into full productions. I was never the strongest lyricist myself, but I developed my own style as a songwriter and composer. The Martin Gustav Project is where I present these collaborations a collection of songs shaped by friendship, creativity, and the joy of making music together.

Story behind the song
In September 2009 I had the idea of writing a Tribute Song to my favorite Band, The Beach Boys. I lived in Galway by the time. While driving in the city the melody and words came into my head very quickley. I recorded an acoustic demo version of the song and send it over to my friend Bernd Oettinger and asked him to produce the song for me. The next step was to invite Kayla Williams into this project. Kayla is a very talented singer from Canada. The Beach Boys were found in the year 1961 - their group fathers were Mike Love, Brian Wilson, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson and Alan Jardine. Bruce Johnston joined by the year 1965. They made their ways into our hearts. Now they are known as the First American Band, from Southern California. God bless you. **** www.healthebay.org Dennis Wilson used to surf in "The South Bay" when he was young. "Heal the bay" is a non-profit organisation dedicated to makeing the southern California coastal waters and watersheds safe, healthy and clean.
