I wrote this song about a friend who lost a teenage son to cancer. It is hard to know what to say at a time like that.
Lyrics
The phone call came one evening
Their worst fear had come true
A mother's arms now empty
And a father's heart is too
Why did God allow this?
Now, does He even care?
Though I'll never understand it
For you I'll say this prayer
May the sun shine down upon your face
May you feel the warmth of God's embrace
May you find the strength to make it through
This is my prayer for you
This is my prayer for you
The service was a nice one
As nice as one could be
With flowers on the casket
Sent in loving memory
But why did God allow this?
Now, is He even there?
As I hang my head in silence
For you I say this prayer
May the sun shine down upon your face
May you feel the warmth of God's embrace
May you find the strength to make it through
This is my prayer for you
This is my prayer for you
I'm praying for His mercy
Praying for His Grace
I'm praying for his love to hold you today
May you feel His love surrounding you
