Story behind the song
Humbucker- Epiphone SG Rythm setting double humbuckers Single Coil - Squier 51 with strat-type pickup in the neck position Amp- Randall rg75 clean channel and it is untouched throughout tracks..no changes made to the amp.
Lyrics
Tr1- Humbucker, and SM7 mic 4ft away and 3ft up, in a "reverbish" room Tr2- Single coil same Mic setting. Tr 3- Humbucker with 57sure touching the grill of the combo amp (traditional placement) Tr4- Single Coil...same as Tr3. Tr5- Humbucker with sm57 mic touching the grill...and some metal distortion Tr6- Single Coil....uh..it was the same settings ..but that buzzing is the infamous single coil....oh well, we all know that buzz. A fun little test showing drastic differences in tones and mic placements... again the amp was never touched! how cool is that? of course....its very cool. personally, I liked the Tr 3 and Tr 4...the 57 to the face of the amp was nice, and offered a great signal to the recorder and makes sense why this is probably the most common recording setup.
