MARGURITE McDONALD MUSIC (ASCAP) DRE'ROCK DA PHUNK WARLOCK Andre McDonald Hometown:Cleveland,Ohio Growing up in a household filled with musical vibes, Dre'Rock learned to appreciate all styles of music. It was the jazziness of his father's album collections. It was the soulful funk and R&B of his mother's 45's that began the fusion of melodies in his head. At age 10 he recieved a tape recorder for Christmas. That is when he started making his own rap songs by recording his own words over instrumentals. By age 15 Dre'Rock was preforming at school, talent shows and rhyming with the veterans. In 1995 Dre'Rock teamed up with Ron "Rough Draft" Williams and began experimenting with Dre'Rock's vocal ability and sound inflections. It was Rough Draft's unique production savvy that created the Phunk Warlock sound that is present in Dre'Rock's music today. "You can't stop chemistry or destiny, when it is meant to be" says Dre'Rock of he and Rough Draft's relationship.
