Working draft of a song I'm working on down in the basement. (Disclaimer: It's a one-man-band effort by a rank amateur, so it's got some flaws.)
I'm just a guy who loves stories (hearing and telling them in short stories, , and songs). I have been writing and recording songs since the days of the old Fostex 4-track and ye old high school cover band and finally put together a project studio to "rough out some demos" in my 10 minutes a week of spare time. Would love to collab with other songwriters and musicians to co-write and produce and bounce ideas off each other.

Story behind the song
The irony of wealthy churches ever made you go...Have we kind of missed the point?
Lyrics
In the Shadow of that Church They pass a fine new church every Saturday When she?s walkin with Bo and Granny Down to the IGA It?s marble and stone And the steeple is so high the big white cross on top of it is way up in the sky Has stain-glass windows And a cappuccino bar She?s seen preacher?s on Channel 5 looks like a movie star A little man behind the gate says KEEP OFF THE SOD The big old sign says Welcome to the Brand-New House of God! (Chorus) In the shadow of that church on the other side of town it?s drafty in the trailer where that little girl kneels down Prays, ?Watch over Bo and Granny And Daddy, way down south, and P.S.: Lord, I really like your house? Well there?s holes in Janey?s shoes and Granny needs a coat the baby?s nose is running they didn?t make the power note Life has been so hard Since Mama passed away And the Law drove off with Daddy On that awful rainy day But now there?s an Easter dress pink with snow-white lace Mama put on layaway fuh her at the second-hand-me-down place She wonders if it?s still up there now that Mama?s with the Lord pictures herself putting it on and walkin through God?s door
