I'm nothing more than a songwriter trying to present my creations as best I can. I realized I was a composer when I noticed tunes in my head that I'd never heard elsewhere. Lyrics come almost that easy now but my performance skills are lacking. Arranging my own music is time consuming so I often write lyrics to available arrangements when commercial value is not an issue. Although I could benefit from the performing talents of others, I'm a one man band.

Story behind the song
I wanted to honor members of my work crew. A hammer was seldom used by us but the classic tune served as a great platform for the lyric of this tribute.
Lyrics
If I broke down boxes, I'd break 'em down in Scher-Plough. I'd help to move the pallets until the shift ends. I'd break down shippers. I'd break down inners too. I'd flatten out the scrap and save out the bottles and the nozzles. That's where repackaging begins. If I was a labeler, I'd label all the bottles I'd label 'em with info to say what's inside. I'd label out instructions. I'd label out a warning. I'd label out the lot they're from and when they expire. And then I'd send 'em down the line. If I loaded inners, I'd load 'em up with the bottles. I'd load 'em with a nozzle and an insert too. The flaps would be folded, and glue would keep them closed. They'd be stamped again with even more info. That's what the inner loaders do. If I was a shrinker, I'd shrink together inners. I'd shrink 'em up to seal them in perfect groups of three. I'd shrink 'em up in plastic. I'd shrink down by warming. I'd shrink 'em to protect the contents and to group 'em up for shipping. That's what shrinking means to me. If I was a shipper, I'd label empty shippers I'd fold the shippers' bottoms and fill them three by four. I'd fold the shippers' tops down. I'd run 'em through the tape machine. I'd stack in sequential order on a skid and then I'd wrap 'em, then haul the product out the door. If I had a hammer, I'd hammer out a work crew. I'd hammer out solutions whenever things go bad. I'd hammer out the schedule. I'd see the work gets done on time. I'd hammer out a skid or two whenever skids are broken, just like our supervisor had. I did a little break down. I did a lot of shipping too. I hammered out this mini album for my bothers and my sisters to help remember Schering-Plough.
