A story about a woman getting out of an affair. Unfinished.
I'm really just a lyricist who is looking to team up with a great composer to create songs that glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Story behind the song
It seems there are a lot of stories on the news these days about people having affairs. But they never share the real story of hurting hearts that need to be saved. If I could, I would like this song to have an R&B feel, similar to those other songs about cheating girlfriends/boyfriends.
Lyrics
I have to say Ia€™m sorry one last time
For all the days I crossed over the line and pulled you with me
Living in denial all those nights
Thinking everything would be alright, no one would find out
Pre Chorus
At last it has to come down to this (No we cana€™t be friends)
Dona€™t make it harder than it is (please dona€™t call me again)
Chorus
You know what wea€™re doing isna€™t right
You know it hurts my husband and your wife, the things we say
No matter how good it might feel
The love we make just isna€™t real
I can see it in your eyes
The time has come for me to say goodbye
I thought that I needed something new
Maybe I could play this game with you and not get hurt
I tried to get you off my mind
Your lies pulled me back every time, deeper and deeper
Pre chorus, Chorus
Bridge:
Ia€™m sorry, so sorry
That I took that very first step
All the things that I regret just haunt me day and night
Now Ia€™m going to go back to my first love
Hea€™s stood by me through it all
Forgive me Jesus
