Back In Tennessee
Written By Billy Simons

Wea019ve spilled our share of blood on foreign soil
And youa019re well within your right to blame it on the oil
Though I guess ita019s hard for you to understand
What our lives are like out here in the sand
Ita019ll be another year before I leave
And ita019s so hot at times I can barely breathe
The people here have all been good to me
Aina019t it funny, how life changes, when youa019re free
Each time I hear a rocket overhead
I cana019t help but think that somewhere, someonea019s dead
I write letters home that I never send
And deep inside, I wish this war would end
Ita019s hard to know who and what to trust
When a caravan of strangers emerges from the dust
But when the lord decides to call for me
I hope it happens back in Tennessee
