Blues in G, Aeolian mode. Backing Track by David Wallimann. The vocals are a bit rough but my singing hasn't had much attention for a lot of years. I'm hoping the mood has survived the rough edges.

Story behind the song
Trying to understand modes with the help of David Wallimanns teaching - one of his backing tracks Deep Aeolian Thoughts in G got under my skin and got me wanting to try a recording with it. I woke up one morning hearing the song in my head with the words of one of my wife's poems. The poem is of a real event.
Lyrics
When I walked out up East Beach Cliff
Against a hurricane of driving spray
I saw a bird, so still as if
His soul had simply stepped away
So perfectly his form intact
Asleep upon the grassy path
No sign of blood, or wound, in fact
No evidence of Nature's wrath
Yet still he lay while raged the storm
His song forever hushed of sound
A slight small moment of sweet peace
While all the elements raged around.
