The name "Mothers Fear" has long been synonymous with "high energy heavy rock", and those who have attended the live shows have become "Fear fans" for life. What they all seem to appreciate so much is the no nonsense approach to music and performance the band has adhered to. The core of the band has always been the writing team of Brian Flanagan on vocals and Robert Graves on guitar; working hard to excite an audience with an intensity few could match. Over the years the rest of the line-up has changed from time to time but the attitude remains the same, "hang on tight cause the Fear is here". The band began in Nova Scotia and for a short time toured the Maritimes exclusively but they soon branched out into Quebec and Ontario to expand their audience. Everywhere they went their reputation as a "heavy rock, hard partying" band grew, and although the constant touring schedule and punishing lifestyle isn't usually conducive to longevity Mothers Fear took it in stride. Through these years they've made several forays into the studio with an endless collection of original material but felt the recordings lacked the raw power they had in such abundance live. The stage seemed to be where the band was most at home but years in a bus is taxing business. Robert and Brian decided a fresh start was in order and relocated to the west coast in Vancouver, British Columbia, and began putting together their own studio. Finally they were able to achieve the sound they were looking for. After a hiatus in live shows Mothers Fear is now performing again and has released it's first, long overdue, C.D. which captures all the intensity the band has always been known for. The band is now planning a cross Canada tour schedule and writing and recording their second C.D. due out next fall.

Lyrics
I was on the castle wall, when it all began Now the stones are down, oh the crying sound From her eyes laughter dances, victory staining all her lances Helmet glowing in the sun, till all her deeds are done  Only to love her, but nobody loves her, she sits too high on the steed Charlot the harlot runs to her prey, who’ll get down on their knees From her eyes laughter dances, victory staining all her lances Helmet glowing in the sun, till all her deeds are done  Years after years on the road it feels good it feels right, taking I never look at the plight of her might, I just cook they’re bending in fright, Oh holding on  Over and over through valleys of tears go for years spending I know the look on your face gives you an unknown disgrace They’re bending in fright, Oh holding on  You can see me, Ride to the north, ride to the Ride to the east, ride to the Ride to the west, ride to the Ride to the south, ride to the Ride to the north, ride to the Ride to the east, ride to the Ride to the west, ride to the Ride to the north, to the south
