Story behind the song
REVIEW I don't know where to begin or how to tell you "in words that mean as much read as they do said" what it was like the first time I listened to this one!!!!!!!!!! The steel guitar just made the hair on me stand straight up when it broke the quiet sadness spoken in the lyrics and when the fiddle joined in layered on top of the constant drum beat (almost sounds like a heart beat felt within the melody). It is the most beautiful love story being told so tenderly/lovingly from the first note to the last one by the artist!!! Then the second time I listened to it I realized it was perhaps the fact that at long last there is a story being told that speaks of Kelly Green Eyes and how much he loved them right up until the very moment she closed them for the last time! It almost allows the listener to see how deeply SARA was loved and if the truth be told, every woman wants, needs to be loved like that! When he speaks of holding her in the darkness until the angels came to take her and how he prays that she waits until he can join her it just took my breath away.....IT TOOK MY BREATH AWAY..... Thank you or sharing this one... to say I was impressed would be an understatement for sure.....It is now in my library and as far as I am concerned it rates an A .... Bobby Huckaby may not be a young and upcoming talent backed by the Payola's of this world but for me he and his voice is fantastic (as is the mixing of the music).
