Story behind the song
Well, Mike may not have written a lot of songs in DULCET, but what he did do was pretty f*ckin' cool. "Q-tip", came from two things Mike, and I think everyone in the band, really loved the most....STAR WARS and that crazy upbeat rhythm. It has a distinct "Cantina Band" vibe to it, and obviously the "Imperial March" at the begining played by Mr. Randy Campo. The thing about this song is, that I will always respect Mike for, it was written on a saxophone...only! I don't know if he tape recorded himself playing each of the parts or what. Only Noah, Jay and Randy know how it happened coz he spent like 3 hours of a rehearsal teaching it to them and he had no idea what everyone else (non-horns) were supposed to play. I think I played bass on this one come to think of it. "Not So Fat" Mike Glenn: alto sax "Hawaiian Shirt" Jay Dotson: trombone Noah Bush: trumpet Randy Campo: bari sax R.J.: drums, bass "Super" Hiro Yasukumo: guitar
