This page is for my February is Album Writing Month efforts for 2010. The aim is to write 14 songs during the 28 days of February. My songs will mostly be elect
is an annual songwriting challenge that dares us to write 14 songs during the shortest month of the year. This is my first year attempting this challenge. I'm posting my output for this month here for posterity's sake. After the challenge is over, I hope to return to these songs and polish them up for later release, but it's possible someone might like to see them in their original form. As such, they are all a bit rougher than I usually leave a song before releasing it, though some are in nearly-ready-to-go form.

Story behind the song
This was my first-ever FAWM song. I wanted to get off to a quick start, so I started composing music at work on my lunch break using Xewton Music Studio on my iPod Touch. Once I was home, I imported the MIDI into FL Studio and finished the music. First four lines of the first verse is from the "common verse" challenge issued in the unofficial challenges board of the FAWM forums. The rest just flowed from there. Thanks for listening.
Lyrics
He dreamt of her -- of the way she could move him with a whisper, or hold him with a touch, and take his breath with a kiss A vision of loveliness full of grace, full of style She was a mystery that he could not resist He leapt to his feet just as soon as she entered the room He held her gaze just as steady as he could Her smell filled him up and the sound of her voice made him swoon And he called out to her right there where he stood She held him, carressed his cheek so gently, But he wanted more He brought her gifts and tokens of affection She threw them out without a worry or a care He did whatever he could to get her attention To win her heart there was nought he did not dare She held him, carressed his cheek so gently, But he wanted more And so they lived like this in constant distraction With her gentle touch and his constant search for action Their lives on different levels, and more's the pity But that is life and love for a woman and her kitty She held him, carressed his cheek so gently But there could be no more
