Jimmy and the Barbarellos began singing and playing in 1954, and is going strong to this day.
Story behind the song
I've loved this song since the first time I heard it on an Alan Freed LP! That's why we included it on the album.
Lyrics
Why don't you write me, send me a letter?
Tell me you love me dear, make me feel better.
I love you. Yes it' you I adore.
You I adore.
When I first met you darling, I realize.
And for you dear, I did advise.
Please, darling, won't you send me a line.
Send me a line.
I miss you so each day.
Although you're far away I guess I'll love you more and more.
And as the days go by, I sometimes often try to see your face once more.
See your darling face once more.
Counted my blessings, reach for a thought.
Why don't you write me dear, say how you are?
I love you and its you I adore.
You I adore.
It's you I adore.
