Thunderstorm
words and music by Kim Wilson (Alador)
I dreamed about a picture of a girl out in a thunderstorm
I dreamed that when I saw it I was sitting safe and warm
I did not understand the way the picture filled me with a sense of doom
But as I looked away, I saw a shadow cross the moon
I dreamed about a man who was standing on a gallows to die
Just before the hood went on I think I saw the world through his eyes
I did not know his name, I never knew what he had done
But as I turned away, I saw a shadow cross the sun
I dreamed I saw the sky dark with bombs and the land bright with flames
I heard the people calling out but I did not recognize the names
A woman who had fallen was calling out for me to take her hand
As I turned away I saw a shadow cross the land
I awoke this morning in terror, choking back a scream
So happy when I realized that it had only been a dream
And in the early light I saw that everything was still in its place
But when I turned to look at you, I saw a shadow cross your face
