Kristen Pfaff
(1967 -1994)
The late Hole Bassist, Kristen Pfaff was quickly consumed by the dangers of the music industry. She began with her band Janitor Joe, and then was picked up by Hole. Making more money with Hole than she had ever made before, she was able to afford expensive and addictive drugs. She soon became addicted to heroin. Eventually she began to realize how this addiction was effecting her carrer, and her relationships. She decided to use all the will power she had to quit using. Instead of gradually cutting down, she completely quit all together, without giving her body any notice. When a person suddenly stops using an addictive drug such as heroin, the withdrawl can often be fatal, as It was for Kristen. She died on June 16th 1994. Kristen is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetary, in Buffalo N.Y. where I currently reside. After frequent visits to her grave, this song basically created itself. I hope you enjoy it.
