Story behind the song
This song was inspired by an episode I saw on the Oprah Winfrey show in 2004 about a little boy named Mattie Stepanek whom had a medical condition that could not be treated this little boy always had a positive attitude no matter what this condition put him through he always seemed to be smiling when ever I saw him on Oprahs show, eventually it took his life, Whenever my life gets rough and things are not going so well which seems like a lot lately I always think of little Mattie and I realize that I have to take this same attitude Mattie took in his life and keep on smiling because I believe thats what little Mattie would have wanted all of us to do in our lives when the storms hit even if I did not know him personally I feel that I did. I wrote this song in 2004 but I just recently recorded it, so I hope that this song just might help someone out there that is going through some rough times and thay can play it and realize that no matter what they can at least smile just a little bit , Mattie would have smiled along with you and for you.
