Story behind the song
I wrote this after another boyfriend of mine told me for months he loved me. He said he was in love with me right up until the bitter end. Then he suddenly changed his story and said he had never loved me and didn't know why he said it. I was furious and hurt, but mostly furious for not picking up on that and allowing myself to be used for months. In the end he said the classic "Can't we be friends" line. This song is the answer to that question.
